Born in West Jordan, Utah, Ann has been a resident of Cedar City, Utah for over thirty years. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Southern Utah University and gained her first professional experience working at the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery. She is currently the owner of Blue Sage Frame Shop & Gallery.
Working in watercolor, charcoal and pencil, Ann habitually carries a sketchbook and also travels with her painting materials whenever possible. She gathers her inspiration and subject matter from her travels, experiences, interactions, emotions, and the local landscape.
“I find the immediacy and natural occurrences, which are often uncontrollable, between pigment and water very magical. I rely on thumbnail sketches to establish the values and composition of my watercolors, but drawing has also been a lifelong love of mine and is a natural part of my existence”.
